Payless is horrible

I have spent 4 hours today trying to get a hold of someone in customer care (manager/supervisor) and nothing still. I lost pricing on a reservation. i have sent a ticket to customer care--which is broken and yet no one to tell about my issue. I cant believe in this time and age with all this technology these kind of companies are allowed to operate in America...I had a simple question of what happens if i use the pay now option and the location closes? I had a great rate i was getting when i called the location the person at Payless (Seth) said he doesn't know the policy of what happens and Payless is new for this location. He said I will have Tracey the manager call you at noon. Of course no phone call. Ticket system says i would get an email for with the ticket ID so i can track my issue and i have not gotten any emails....I called corporate Avis offices (Parent Company) no luck...My story has fallen on deaf ears...Wow!!!!!!!!!! Lost the rate, No one from Customer care has contacted me and I cannot believe this is how business is conducted in 2016 in USA. I am in shock

Fraudulent Pricing and Charges

I reserved a car for 5 days and was quoted $173 and prepaid with a debit card. When I picked up the car I was asked if I wanted additional insurance coverage, which I declined. After returning the car, my debit card was charged an additional $188 for optional services. I immediately contacted customer service requesting an itemized list of optional services I was being charged for and received a reply from Payless stating that they did not understand what I meant by an itemized list and no refunds would be issued. After explaining what an itemized list was, four days passed without a reply. I again submitted my request for a list of options I had agreed to and a refund. The next day I received a reply from their "Executive Desk" informing me that I "accepted the option to decline loss/damage coverage" and this option costs $26.58/day plus tax! In other words pay us for additional insurance or pay us for not getting additional insurance. I was also inform that Payless could not be held to their quoted price as the final price couldn't be determined until the car was returned. For the life of me I can't understand how the Nevada Attorney General allows this company to continue to operate.

I to have the same problem. You are lucky that they have at least contacted you.

I am still waiting. I paid for the rental on the internet and have been charged for more than I paid. I was told by a counter person that Loss of Use was not covered by State Farm in New Hampshire. My insurance agent says it is and I am covered.

Funny Las Vegas knows all about New Hampshire. I am calling the New Hampshire Attorney General and lodging a complaint against Payless Las Vegas.

I had a horrendous experience with Payless also. I finally filed a dispute with my credit card company.

Payless never responded to them, just as they never responded to me.

The credit card company said the dispute was settled in my favor and it refunded the entire amount to me. I don't know if this would also work with a debit card, but I would sure give it a try.

Payless Car Rental Car Rental Review

I rental a car from Payless Car Rental in Jacksonville airport and return it on July 26th 2016 with a full tank of gas and they refuse to pay be back my $38.45 that they charge me on my contract. A receipt was given to me that they got the car back with a full tank of gas. My advise to everyone don't rent car from Payless Car Rental in Jacksonville they rob people.

Rented a car and returned it early, without telling you, they charge you extra per day when you return early. It was the worst experience I have ever had. Good luck with reaching them after that- there is no phone number or customer service line to reach them on! You will submit a ticket online and then they will go back and forth with you and after 2 weeks of that bs you will finally get a response stating that because you returned the vehicle early, you were charged the rate of $48 per day for a small ford fiesta. I filed with the BBB and I hope this company goes out of business soon, just based on the number of complaints they have.

Payless Car Rental Huge Ripoff

I recently rented a car at Las Vegas Airport. My travel agent quoted me a price of $158. I had my printed copy. When I checked in, the guy told me it would be almost $100 more. When I showed him my quote, he told me that my agent made a mistake but he would correct it. When I took car back, my receipt the guy gave me was $262. I've checked with my travel agent and she is getting no where. They said we added second driver, which we did not do. This company is such a scam. They tried to pressure me into taking the insurance. When I declined, he just kept saying that I needed to be careful because even a door ding would cost me $70 a day. I'm going to attempt to deny charges but not sure how that will work.

Worst experience with a car rental company.First i waited at the airport for a shuttle in which I was not aware it was affilated with Budget car rental,then when i get to the yard the line was out the door,then the have a sign at the door stating that there is a deposit for credit card $250 and $350 debit card whereing that when I reserved on line that was not informed.They had one agent serving I lost money on my hotel due to the fact of the service that I never recieved from PAYLESS CAR RENTAL I had to cancel the hotel reservation because I did not have a rental car to make it to my destination.One gentlemen who finally got a rental said to everyone in line "GOOD LUCK!! I've been in line for a hour". I will never deal with TASTE LESS CAR RENTAL AGAIN!!

Customer Service Stinks

Denver Payless - Lacking in customer service. I was the first off the shuttle bus only to find a line all the way to the door. There were only 2 clerks helping people with about 20+ people ahead of us. There were 2 clerks in another room waiting for "Priority" customer of which there were none. When my husband spoke with the manager about the line the manager told him "well you wait on lines at Disney and you don't complain there". He also spewed another insulting line which I can't remember now. By the time we finally checked out the line was out the door and down the whole side of the building. Those poor people probably had a 2 hour wait ahead of them. I have lots of photo's of your lines and lack of staff but this form wouldn't let me import them.

Expedia rate does not Payless rate

Payless Car Rental - Expedia rate does not Payless rate

The charge including fees and taxes for Payless car rental was going to be $98.72 according to the Expedia printout I took to the counter. At the Payless Car Rental counter the price jumped to $189.00.

Payless Car rental said the extra charges were justified and blamed Expedia. Expedia said their charges should be accurate and blamed Payless Car Rental. The Payless Car Rental counter was located at an off-site airport location so I had no choice but to pay the charges if I wanted a car. LESSONS: 1.

do not book though Expedia if you want to know the actual charges 2. book though the Payless Car Rental website if you want to do business with Payless Car Rental.

3. Do not EVER use Expedia or Payless Car Rental.

I wiil do everything in my power to expose their company lying and misinformation when i asked all the info when making reservations and twice again prior to our arrival in Ny..they caused a huge dilemma and extreme stress and i want to find someone who is willing to listen!

I ASKED THE AGENT 5 TIMES TO CLARIFY THE REFUND POLICY AND NOW THEY CLAIM THAT IT WAS NEVER CALLED A REFUND - MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY TELLS ME THAT IT'S ACTUALLY AN "AUTHORIZATION". THIS IS DECEPTION BEHAVIOR - DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT FALL FOR THE SAME MISTAKE I HAD. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM, GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT AVIS, PAYLESS, OR BUDGET CARS (ALL OWNED BY THE SAME *** AVIS). Please stay away from Payless. You will see cheap prices online for a reason!!! let me explain!!!! I made my reservation online through american express. Went in to pick up my car and spoke to Paul. I was told that they do not have my class car and that i would have to pay extra to get the next class up. I asked paul, what was the point of making a reservation if they would not keep the car ready for me! He was extremely rude about it and said i could F off if i didnt want the car. That is obviously no way to talk to a paying customer!!!! What PAYLESS does is they advertise low prices to get you into the door and then trap you into upgrading. Please stay away from this company as they are thieves.!!!!

Payless Car Rental - Overcharged
I rented a car at Payless, the lady that helped me was very nice. I returned the car and gentleman said he would take care of cc card billing. When at home I looked at cc statement and I could see i was overcharged by about $80. I have a receipt, payless sent me a copy of receipt that was different than the receipt I had. I already have AAA which I showed a copy of when I rented. I am still waiting for this to be corrected. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company. Check your receipt and don't just let them handle it for you. I Was charged $434.24 instead of $359.56

On our way back to the airport on April 23rd we were involved in an accident. While travelling on Intertstate 5 the driver behind us was travelling to fast and was unable to stop when traffic slowed and struck our car from behind at approximately 40mph. Our car sustained enough damage that it could not be driven any further. After we contacted emergency services, we pulled out our rental contract and were surprised to discover there was no number to call in case of an accident or emergency. The only phone number on the contract was the location phone number at the airport. I called the number about 5 times and was sent to voicemail every time, I left one message that we were in an accident and needed to know where to tow the vehicle. I called one more time and someone answered and asked if we could hold and immediately put me on hold. I stayed on hold. During that time my wife also called the 800 number for Payless and they provided us with a number to call for assistance, that number went to voicemail because hours of operation were Mon-fri.. and this was Saturday. Can you sense some frustration here yet? The police arrived took reports and tow trucks arrived, I am still on hold. We tell the tow truck driver to just take us to the airport rental car location and we will figure it out when we get there. We arrive at the rental car center in San Diego and I walk into the Payless counter to see one agent helping a customer and the other agent standing there doing nothing while all the phones rang. I showed him my phone still on hold for 54 minutes and his response was that they were busy. The agent told us we needed to go upstairs and fill out an accident report. I see now that Payless is owned by franchisees, well I can tell you that they have not prepared their franchisees to handle an accident, the company should support its franchisees and think about the customer and provide an emergency number available 24/7. Needless to say, this will be our last rental from Payless. I would call to complain but I would probably just get a voicemail.

TOTALLY DISSATISFIED!! Don't waste your money here! If this can stop one person from getting ripped off, it's worth it! HIDDEN FEES, OVERCHARGES, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND SHOP ELSEWHERE! They stated that additional day for rental would be $9 per day, but they don't tell you that they will charge you an extra $10 a day for late fees, or another $20 per day for taxes. Three weeks after returning the car I got a letter in my mail stating they were charging me another $250 for cleaning pet hair from my car and I NEVER had a pet inside my car, not once. To top it all off, the first day I had the rental car I found a bag of marijuana and a scale under my drivers seat! Are you kidding me? I get billed $250 for cleaning up pet hair, but they leave DRUGS in the car???
