I came into the new york Area because my father passed away so I needed a rental book a reservation went to the LaGuardia location 15 minutes early reservation was at 4 PM the hours of operation Say from 7 to 11 PM I arrived at the location and there was no one there the location was closed I then called customer service to ask for supervisor and was placed on hold for 45 minutes no one ever came to the phone this is the most unprofessional rental car place in the world and the fact that no one even tried to help me is absolutely crazy I wasted my time and money by going to this location

Payless Car Rental - Deplorable customer service

Counter rep at the Richmond Int’l Airport refused to honor confirmed price booked through Expedia and was extremely rude, insulting and dishonest. Canceled the transaction. Went to Alamo and had a great experience.

Payless Car Rental - Error with online booking, was charged twice

I went online to book a rental car and the website stated a charge could not be made on my card. There is no reason for that, so I figured I typed in the wrong card number. I got the message again so I went to another company and rented a car no problem. Then I looked at my credit card statement online and it shows Payless charged me twice for the rental! I called customer service, they were rude and dismissive and ill-informed. I was told it would be 5 business days to release the funds on my card. I told the representative that was outrageous and he hung up on me! I wasn't rude, I treat people with respect, there was no reason for him to hang up on me. I called back several times in an attempt to speak with a supervisor, was put on hold for a total of over 1 hour and a supervisor never picked up. I am concerned that they will say the charges a non-refundable for the rental. This company is a joke! One phone call to customer service and you will see that for yourself. Be careful about renting online as you may find yourself in the same situation I am in.

On September 28,2016 my husband made a reservation online through paylesscar.com for a 3 day rental in Las Vegas, we never received any email confirmations, so after checking our bank statement we found that we had veen charged for the rental. We contacted paylesscar.com customer service to have the charge removed but they said they had no record of the transaction and can not help us, naturally i asked for a supervisor and after being on hold for an hour the system hung up on me. I contacted them again and got hung up on after asking for a supervisor, my husband then called and he got hung up on too. We were being cordial, professional and patient but received horrible service in return. I will never use this company again and never recommend anyone to them either.

Worst company to do business with! This company is a fraud! Do not rent online without reading every line of fine print and clicking on every link and reading and understanding hidden costs, they don't disclose everything up front. I booked a car in Vegas, automatic toll charges were not disclosed online but when I got email confirmation, in there it said "Automatic charges for toll roads apply" I immediately called and complained that this charge was not disclosed online. I did not trust this company and within 2 hours of booking I requested the service rep to cancel my reservation, he did but deducted $50 for cancellation fee which I think is very unfair. First they don't disclose all charges and when you cancel they charge $50 cancellation fee.

Payless Car Rental - Local renters beware! Terribly rude "service"

I live in the area and booked online for a trip the night before leaving. When I arrived, there was a line, and an employee stated the reason for the long wait was that the computers went down, which I did not believe. When I got to the counter, they asked for my reservation number (why is this needed if there is no system running). He then stated that as a local renter, I needed to show proof of residency with a recent bill. Who brings utility bills with them to rent a car? Anyway, I was able to use my phone to find a storage bill in my email. They said it was no good because it doesn't match my license address. Hello, I'm in the process of moving! They refused to rent a car to me, and when I asked for a supervisor, I was told that they would only repeat what I was already told. I insisted, so the person went in the back for a moment, and returned claiming that this person was not available. I left and my wife called customer service from the car. The person said a refund would be issued within the next few days and I would receive an email confirmation. The email I received was just a note of my statement and they had a "corporate customer service" person say I cancelled less than 48 hours before rental and forfeit the entire amount. I went back and forth with her a few times stating how they refused to provide a product/service and I did not cancel, but got nowhere. If this is how they treat people, they will be out of business soon no matter how low the price is.
